Okay, these are not my photos. When I purchased a new laptop, some trips were inadvertently deleted. So I have done my best to download images of Beijing, Xian, and Shanghai which I visited with my nephew, Charles Peck during winter.
Beijing was cold and gray. Some sites were impressive like the Forbidden City and Tiananmen Square, but we had the most fun on a bicycle propelled rickshaw in the Hutong district on a snowy winter day. Our guide was funny and charming and one of my highlights of the trip.
Xian is a great stop, well known for its terra cotta army. The street food was exceptional and the people were quite friendly.
Shanghai at night was my favorite. It reminds me of the mythical Gotham of Hollywood fame. It is vibrant and hopeful...the new New York in my mind. I would enjoy an extended stay in Shanghai.
